The Captain's House (Patrons)
Patrons of the Castle of Mey are being offered an opportunity to rent 'The Captain's House', (Called Seaview House for a number of years, the name has now reverted to The Captain's House which is what the Queen Mother always called it), at a special rate.
The house has bright, spacious refurbished rooms including a magnificent conservatory. Seaview is aptly named, having wonderful views over the Pentland Firth to Orkney and across to Dunnet Head and the Castle of Mey.
It is furnished and equipped to a high standard, and has central heating. The property is only six miles from John O'Groats, from where you can take a day trip over to Orkney. The coastline has many sandy beaches and craggy cliffs, ideal for bird watching and fishing. There are also numerous quiet roads suitable for cycling. This is an area for families who enjoy outdoor pursuits and appreciate a comfortable base.
