Castle of Mey: Garden Volunteers

This week is Mental Health Awareness Week and the theme for this year is anxiety. Our gardening volunteers in the past have expressed how much working with nature can benefit their mental health.

A day in the life of a Garden Volunteer can be varied involving weeding, planting by The Granary Lodge, answering questions from tourists, promoting Caithness and learning the history of the garden. All of our lovely volunteers say the atmosphere is fun and peaceful which shines through on their faces.

If you are interested in joining our Gardening team as a volunteer please contact Chris Parkinson, our Head Gardener, at garden@castleofmey.org.uk with a brief background on your gardening knowledge.
