The Castle, Gardens, Visitor Centre and The Granary Lodge are favourites among visitors to the area and we look forward to another busy tourist season.

We currently have several part-time seasonal hospitality vacancies available.

If you are interested in working with a friendly team in a beautiful location from the beginning of May until the end of September, we would like to invite you to call us for an informal chat to discuss some of our employment opportunities.

As a flexible employer we have positions available working 2 to 5 days per week, depending on your circumstances and how you manage your work/life balance.

Our friendly team pride themselves on always offering excellent customer service and working well as part of a dedicated team.  While hospitality experience is preferred, it is not essential as training will be provided for all roles.

Due to location transport is essential.

Positions Available

Tour Guides

Giving tours of the Castle presenting facts and anecdotes relating to the Queen Mother and the history of the Castle.

Visitor Centre Shop Assistants

The first point of contact for many visitors to the Castle, fulfilling the role of providing information on the Castle, selling tickets for tours, and staffing the busy quality gift shop.

Tea Room and Kitchen Assistants

A hands-on role providing an efficient and friendly counter service in a busy environment.  Duties will include front of house service, kitchen work, and cleaning duties.

Home Cook/Baker

Home cook or baker with good cooking skills, preparing fresh soup, sandwiches, scones, cakes, shortbread and traybakes to meet customer requirements.  Adhering to food hygiene standards.  Food hygiene certificate preferred but not essential as training will be given.

Front of House Team Member

A guest focused role greeting guests and handling their bookings efficiently.  Confidently engaging with guests offering information on the local area and providing hospitality and food and beverage service.

Office Administrator

Responsible for the administration of the Castle office.  Standard office reception duties, answering the telephone and emails, dealing with group booking administration, invoicing.

Car Park Attendant

Working outdoors to manage the flow of traffic through the car park, directing visitors to available parking spaces.  Assisting visitors with both parking and non-parking queries.

Grounds Maintenance Gardener

Assisting the Head Gardener to perform basic maintenance such as cutting the grass, hedge cutting, pruning, managing weed control and leaf raking.
